EmbryoGlue: Enhancing Embryo Implantation

MCRM Fertility is now offering patients the option to utilize EmbryoGlue® at the time of their embryo transfer. EmbryoGlue® is applied to an embryo prior to its transfer to the uterus in order to improve implantation. EmbryoGlue® is a medium that closely resembles the uterine environment at the time of implantation and aids the embryo in uniting with the uterus. The medium is NOT A GLUE as one may typically think of; however, it acts as one by allowing the embryo to better attach to the uterine wall, allowing for the increased chance for implantation.

In addition to aiding in implantation, EmbryoGlue® also aids for future embryo growth by providing needed carbohydrates and amino acids. It also contains a high concentration of hyaluronan and proteins such as recombinant albumin. Hyaluronan is natural substance found in all body tissues and its levels naturally increase in the uterus during implantation. This is the molecule that acts like a glue for the embryo to the uterus wall.

Who is EmbryoGlue® Right For? ALL Patients Receiving an Embryo Transfer (ET)

Independent scientific research has shown that the increase of hyaluronan during embryo transfer increases the rate of implantation. It has also shown around a 10% increase in the live birth rate for patients that received EmbryoGlue® at the time of embryo transfer versus those without regardless of the infertility cause.
