Recently, Dr Ahlering shared a personal letter with his patients—reflecting on the journey, the moments that mattered, and the people who made this work so important.
We’re honored to share his words here.
Dear Valued Patient,
I am writing to share that I will be retiring from my full-time clinical role at MCRM Fertility, with my final day in that capacity being March 31, 2026.
This decision comes after careful consideration. My 12 years at MCRM and the many years prior to that have given me the opportunity to assist so many on the path to parenthood, and this has been deeply meaningful to me. It has been my life. Fertility medicine is founded in science and trust, and I am sincerely grateful for the confidence you have placed in me all this time.
Dr. Mira Aubuchon, our primary full-time physician, will continue leading the clinical team and overseeing patient care. Because Dr. Aubuchon has worked at MCRM for years, many of you already know her and her steady, thoughtful approach. She brings strong clinical expertise and a deep commitment to individualized treatment plans, and I have complete confidence in her leadership.
You may see either Dr. Aubuchon or Dr. Fink for management of your treatment plan moving forward. Dr. Fink, having worked in the field for many years as well, will be seeing patients weekly on Friday afternoons and will frequently assist with frozen embryo transfers and egg retrievals, helping ensure procedural continuity and scheduling support.
In addition, our experienced nurse practitioners, Leslie King, APRN, WHNP-BC and Lauren Rackovan, MSN, APRN, WHNP-BC. They remain integral members of your care team, working in close collaboration with the physicians. They help ensure your treatment experience is coordinated, personalized, and thoughtfully guided at every stage.
While you may see different members of the team throughout your care, your treatment plan remains cohesive and centered around your individual goals.
Between now and the end of March, I will continue seeing patients and working closely with the team to ensure a smooth transition. If you have questions regarding your care or scheduling, our staff are available to assist you.
Thank you for allowing me to be part of your journey. I wish you continued fortitude and clarity as you move forward.
With sincere regards and thanks,
Dr. Peter Ahlering
