Retrieval of larger oocyte cohorts maximizes in vitro fertilization (IVF) birth rates per cycle, published in Fertility and Sterility provides evidence that disagrees with the thought of “less is better”. This is yet another study that indicates that minimal stimulation/Mini IVF is not better than standard medication protocols of IVF. It is better to get more eggs in IVF patients rather than less. As it notes in the conclusions, prior articles showing mini IVF is better are simply incorrect. Mini IVF DOES NOT somehow ‘pick out good eggs’ nor does the medication ( gonal F or Follstim) used to stimulate the follicle growth somehow ‘make eggs bad.” The medication is not ‘toxic’ as some would say…Several articles like this show more eggs in IVF is better.
