What Steps Should You Take If You Can't Get Pregnant?

When trying to conceive, a patient may feel overwhelmed, frustrated, and hopeless. At MCRM Fertility, we are experienced in family building, and our treatments offer hope. Treatments include in vitro fertilization (IVF) and intrauterine insemination. Here are the steps you should take if you can’t get pregnant:

Visit a Fertility Clinic

If you are under the age of 35 and have been trying to conceive for 12 months,  or if you are > 35 and have been trying to conceive for over 6-months, seeking out the care of a fertility specialist is important.  MCRM Fertility has five clinicians experienced in fertility treatment who can help you navigate the next steps of your fertility journey: Peter Ahlering, MD, Mira Aubuchon, MD, Vinita Alexander, MD, Laura Anderson, WHNP and Leslie King, WHNP.  If you are ready to discover answers to your fertility questions and proceed along the journey to parenthood, contact us today to schedule an initial appointment with one of these fertility experts.

Get Tested and Evaluated

At your initial visit, our team will review your medical and fertility history. They’ll likely make recommendations to complete a full fertility evaluation for yourself and your partner. The evaluation process typically includes an ultrasound and bloodwork to evaluate ovarian reserve and the uterine cavity.  For a sperm source, the evaluation often includes a magnified semen analysis and bloodwork, and in some circumstances a testicular ultrasound and/or sperm DNA Fragmentation testing.

Completing the Optimal Fertility Treatment for YOU

Our experts will recommend a treatment tailored to you based on your evaluation.  Treatment options can include timed-intercourse, intrauterine insemination, or in vitro fertilization.

Live a Healthy Lifestyle

A low glycemic index diet, regular exercise, and avoidance of tobacco  and marijuana is recommended.

Take the Right Supplements

Based on your fertility evaluation our fertility specialists may recommend vitamin and mineral supplements.

Reduce Your Stress
