MCRM Fertility (MCRM Fertility) and Community Acupuncture are partnering together to provide patients who are undergoing infertility treatment the opportunity to augment their treatment with on-site acupuncture at MCRM Fertility. Several clinical studies have shown the benefits of increased pregnancy rates when receiving acupuncture during In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) treatment.  Recently, in 2016, scientists at Homerton University Hospital in East London presented a study at the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology.  The findings of their study indicated that the pregnancy rate of those who utilized acupuncture with their treatment was 46.2% which was more than double the pregnancy rate of those who did not receive acupuncture (21.7%). Acupuncture reportedly assists by helping to improve the blood flow to the uterine artery, potentially aiding in a pregnancy. As acupuncture treatment throughout an IVF treatment cycle is believed to provide increased overall benefits, beginning in December, in addition to those patients receiving a frozen embryo transfer, a few additional appointments, each month, will also be offered for other MCRM Fertility patients to experience and take advantage of the benefits of acupuncture at MCRM Fertility.  Patients are also encouraged to take full advantage of the benefits of acupuncture through their entire treatment cycle.  Community Acupuncture has a specialized program to assist patients undergoing infertility treatment and offers acupuncture treatments for all stages of treatment care through the 1st trimester of pregnancy. To provide a better understanding regarding acupuncture and its benefits, whether while undergoing infertility treatment or for other ailments such as: PMS, allergies, back pain, headaches, stress and more, John Schmieder will be presenting, “Holistic approaches to Enhancing Your Fertility” at the MCRM Fertility Education and Conference Center, Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at 7pm.  This is anticipated to be a well-attended presentation and seating is limited, registration is recommended.
