Can the Time of Year Cause an Increase Chance for Miscarriage?
Mira Aubuchon, MD
Miscarriages are commonly genetic in origin, but other factors are implicated as well. Investigators found a higher rate of miscarriages, pregnancies <8 week,s in the summer months and in hotter climates than in cooler seasons and geography. We advise all fertility patients to limit environmental heat exposure to the extent possible, as this is one factor that is controllable.
